I am not about to buy one.
I understand that buying a house takes lots and lots of research and preparing. So I am not looking for a definite answer.
I would like to know if there is a formula on the internet somewhere or a rule of thumb to help someone realize what owning a home costs.
I am looking for budget items such as: property tax, heating, cooling, water, electricity, average maintenance.
What all should one take into account? Its not all about the actual cost of the house, is it?
I’m trying to get a mortgage for a house, but the bank says they can’t give me a mortgage because there is a natural spring under the house.
Is there any way that this can be fixed, capped, closed or otherwise taken care of?
I have a standard 30 year fixed rate mortgage at around 5%. I am planning for an early mortgage payoff. I am wondering if I should pay the minimum mortgage payment and save my extra cash until I can pay the mortgage off in one lump sum 9-10 years from now or make smaller monthly payments.
